A trainload of Republicans on their way to a pricey retreat hit a garbage truck. My friend Russ calls that karma.
— Stephen King (@StephenKing) February 1, 2018

i regret all the time i spent reading your books…which is very sad because i loved them…they no longer have a place on my shelves…the 1st editions, signed copies are gone…even the postcard you sent me is gone…shame on you…a person died in that accident…

Making jokes when a person dies. Sad.

Sad…I remember when YOU got hit in June of 1999. Was it funny ? Was it karma ? NO…It was a horrible accident. And NOT to be made fun of. A man DIED you heartless POS.

Karma goes both ways. If you really find the loss of life and people being injured something to relish because they don’t share your political views, you really should take a hard look at yourself. #stephenKing #purposeinlife

To think I used to read your books. Never again. A man died have some respect please.
— Lindsay Steele ?? (@lindsaylsteele) February 1, 2018
Of all people, I thought you would know better. You know what it’s like to be in a traumatic event like this. Thank God you were not killed. But yea, it’s ok to joke when it’s not you involved in the accident I guess. I guess the man who WAS killed is of no importance.

Remember when you were struck by a car in 1999 and sustained broken bones in your right leg and hip, broken ribs, a punctured lung and a head injury….was that Karma too Mr. King?

Of COURSE sorry the truck driver died.
— Stephen King (@StephenKing) February 1, 2018
No, you're not sorry, or you wouldn't have made your first tweet (and left it there undeleted), trying to make a man's accidental death into some kind of laugh riot. https://t.co/qMC9TmuwuI

Yeah but if he was a R Congressman then he deserved it? You’re disgusting
— cb (@marbarber17) February 1, 2018
Awful big of you. Maybe you'll get lucky next time and it will just be some people you disagree with politically and their families who die.

A rather thoughtless tweet from me concerning the train-truck crash, for which I apologize (if one is necessary). It should be pointed out, too, that those Republican politicians, who can be heartless when they vote, immediately got out to help.

Christopher Foley was driving that garbage truck in Crozet. He was 28 years old, and lived in Louisa County, Virginia with his family. Could you kindly share this with followers who might wish to help his baby? Thank you x https://t.co/8RK9lIZLFB
— Anne Margaret Daniel (@venetianblonde) February 1, 2018
You can't even bring yourself to apologise "if one is necessary". You must be so proud of yourself. And I bet you are. That tells me everything I need to know.
— Claire (@CatzPurrington) February 1, 2018
Cause you can write books doesnt make you very smart. Cause you have a talent doesnt mean you are very smart. Saying what you feel and then back tracking cause you were called out doesnt make you very smart. See the trend? Dumbass.
— John Clabough (@JohnClabough) February 1, 2018
I can't stand Hillary, but I'd NEVER wish anything horrible on her or ANYONE. Stupid tweet you sent and the backlash you receive is deserved. Be smarter.
